THA Section 3 Programs

The Trenton Housing Authority (THA) would like to invite you to become a certified Section 3 Business Concern. As part of our efforts to comply with federal Section 3 regulations and to promote contracting, employment, and training opportunities for local businesses and local residents, the THA has created this simple Section 3 certification process.

As a certified Section 3 Business you will be provided with information regarding contracting and vending opportunities with THA. The THA’s goal is to ensure that Section 3 Businesses participate to the greatest extent feasible in all THA projects.

and the If your company qualifies based on the criteria outlined in the certification form then please complete, sign and return the form with supporting documents via email to chuff@tha-nj.org.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) now has an online Section 3 Business Registry. Please register your business here: https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/fair_housing_equal_opp/section3/section3. This will allow other companies to search your business as a registered HUD Certified Section 3 Business.

Getting Started

To begin the application process, you need:

  • Social Security number of other acceptable proof of citizenship.
  • Names and dates of birth of all family members to live in household

The Application Process

Complete your pre-application

During this phase, we confirm your eligibility with a series of background questions so we can place you on the list for one of our communities.

Complete your full application

When you are at the top of the housing list, we work with you to confirm all HUD and THA eligibility factors. All adult family members living in household must complete personal declaration and information release forms. Then you get to meet with THA staff to review, finalize and sign your application. Once you’re approved, we can schedule your move in!
