Director of Security

Ronald S. Glover is a dedicated public servant who retired as a lieutenant of the Newark Police Division after 25 years of honorable service. Beginning in 1994, he served as a patrol officer and was quickly promoted to detective, investigating homicides and other major crimes. Later, he was assigned to the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, where he tracked arrestees in conjunction with the NJ State Parole Board and extensively conducted undercover operations.

 

During his tenure as a police officer, Mr. Glover passionately led the Newark Bronze Shields, a progressive association of African American Police Officers who address racial discrimination within the police department. As its president from 2006 to 2010, he vigorously fought for equality and advancement in the areas of promotions, assignments, and discipline for Black officers.

 

Currently, he serves as Director of Security and Asset Protection for the Trenton Housing Authority, steering the safety operations for 17 city-owned and operated properties, serving over 3,200 residents. Leveraging his well-honed leadership skills, Mr. Glover sets and enforces policies, directs incident investigations, manages the procurement and installation of surveillance equipment, serves as project manager of special operations, and oversees a staff of 26 security officers, including supervisory personnel and contractors.

 

Mr. Glover also actively serves as the Chair of the Special Contribution Fund of the State of NJ NAACP.
With community service as an ongoing pursuit, he currently sits on three boards of directors; the NJ.com Editorial Advisory Board; the Community Advisory Board for WBGO; as co-chairman of the Griffin-Bridges Program of Seton Hall Preparatory School; and as chairman of the board of Newark Symphony Hall. His stellar business acumen was developed early on in his career when he served as a financial analyst for a Merrill Lynch.

 

Mr. Glover is a graduate of Mount Marty College, located in Yankton, South Dakota. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. He is currently completing his master’s degree at Fairleigh Dickenson University and is the loving father of two adult children.

The Application Process

Complete your pre-application

During this phase, we confirm your eligibility with a series of background questions so we can place you on the list for one of our communities.

Complete your full application

When you are at the top of the housing list, we work with you to confirm all HUD and THA eligibility factors. All adult family members living in household must complete personal declaration and information release forms. Then you get to meet with THA staff to review, finalize and sign your application. Once you’re approved, we can schedule your move in!
