 In addition to our Community Supportive Services work, the Hope VI program will also offer a number of other programs that will benefit residents.

Employee Readiness and Life Skills Development - Individuals who sign up for this program will receive important training that can enable them to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.

Employment readiness and life skills development, includes training in the following:

·         Introduction to Computer and Microsoft Office

·         Health and Wellness

·         Driver Education

·         Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness

·         Positive Parenting Styles

·         Financial Literacy

·         Community Living

 

Employment Opportunities

Hope VI Pre-Apprenticeship Program (HPAAP) - This program was designed to assist residents to gain training, employment experience in the construction industry and to establish a successful work history and gain entry into local apprenticeship program operated by trade unions.

With Every Heartbeat is Life Program (WEHL) - Under the HOPE VI project, THA has launched the “With Every Heartbeat is Life” program (WEHL). The WEHL Program was originally created by the National Institute of Health, National Heart Lung and Blood Institute and then brought to the attention of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD has asked THA to utilize its HOPE VI project to implement the program using residents, as Community Health Workers in an effort to educate and reach the community of other public housing residents.
