In addition to redeveloping the Miller Homes site with new affordable housing, THA will also partner with Trenton institutions to provide Early Childhood Education and other social services to Miller Homes’ children and their families.
The HOPE VI Community & Supportive Services (CSS) Program is designed to help families that live in Trenton’s public housing meet their immediate needs and long-term goals. The goal is that participating families will eventually become independent of all forms of assistance. The program emphasizes self-sufficiency for the entire family through:
- Education
- Job Skills Training
- Employment
- Budgeting
- Credit Repair
- Counseling Support
When you sign up for this program, you are assigned a case manager who meets with you to discuss short and long term goals for you and your family, including:
Short-term/Immediate Needs:
- Health
- Childcare needs
- Early Childhood Education
- Need for food/clothing
- Rental or Utilities Assistance
Long-term Goals:
- Completing a GED
- Obtaining Job Skills
- Obtaining Full-Time Job w/Benefits
- Improving Credit
- Becoming Financially Stable
- Becoming Homeownership Ready
