Security Guard - 1 Opening
Summary: Trenton Housing Authority is looking for a strong and dedicated individual to join our Security Department. This individual will be responsible for protecting the property of the Trenton Housing Authority from fire, theft and vandalism, as well as illegal and unauthorized entry onto various Trenton Housing Authority premises. In addition, the Security Guard will be responsible for protecting persons therein from harm. Duties include patrolling the grounds either on foot or in a vehicle and inspecting the buildings to detect any hazards and so forth. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of various machinery and/or performing construction. Must possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey. Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in security.
Maintenance Repairer - 2 Openings
Summary: Under direction performs a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks involved in masonry, plastering, carpentry, painting, plumbing, steam fitting, sheet metal, electrical, glazing, mechanical and/or other types of maintenance work, does related work as directed.
SOME ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Erects simple forms, mixes cement and aggregates, pours it and does the finishing work involved in concrete structures.
- Patches and repairs brick and concrete structures.
- Repairs damaged plastered walls and ceilings.
- Spackles and paints interior and exterior metal, wood and masonry surfaces.
- Repairs plumbing stoppages and repairs leaks in copper, soil and iron pipe.
- Replaces washers and gaskets and makes general service repairs.
- Installs plumbing fixtures including but not limited to toilets, wash basins, faucets and sinks.
- Does general sheet metal work involved in repairing roofs, drain boards and rainspouts.
- Replaces light bulbs, fuses, wall plates, fixture cords and switches. Replaces broken glass and reputties.
- Changes lubricants, refuels and does light maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Cleans tools and equipment.
- Keeps simple records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of various machinery and/or performing construction. Must possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey. Candidates who wish to be considered for the position must pass a basic skills aptitude test.
